Long overdue update

So where has yours truly been as of late and why have I not updated your most favorite blog? It’s because I have been traveling abroad to find a complete and competent cycling camp that understands what it takes to win. I am currently in Aukland New Zealand at the Depeche Cycling camp( http://tr.nelson.co.nz/training_for_cycling.htm ) . This camp consists of many lectures and classroom hours as well as a huge amount of riding. Since I have been here I have logged an average of 85 miles per day- talk about base miles!

I have recently decided to change my focus for the upcoming season. Instead of training for races against the same old same old road racing crowd of Ohio, I am going to focus more on my MTB skills. I am no stranger to the MTB scene, I have been a multiple time qualifier for the NORBA nationals and have had my share of success in races in Ohio, West Virginia and Michingan. I plan to race the Ohio MTB series as training for larger more meaningful races. Honestly, short of a couple of the top guys in Ohio, there really is nothing to prove here any longer. Come on, when the biggest thing these guys have to brag about is a “sponsorship” deal from some company that offers discounts to anyone who asks for one, that isn’t saying much.

Anyhow, that’s all for now… Look for some pictures of training camp in the near future.

Holy Ravioli, it's good to see you're still alive. I haven't heard from any of the old crew for such a long time. I was in SoCal this week and ran into the one and only, Bobke himself. He hasn't missed a beat. Man, I miss the old days when we all used to party at the big events.

In reading your blog I see you're still keepin' the legs rock solid. Looking to get back to the dirty stuff eh? Should be a smooth transition. You were always the one with superior bike handling. Let's not forget though who was always whoopin' on you when the rocks weren't biting at my rubbers. Dude, I always hated that east coast racing. Not enough altitude..too much technical garbage and the bearded babes of central PA. Speaking of bearded babes....I saw F.L. a few weeks back too. I've been thinking about getting my feet muddy again as well. I'm sure I wont be able to hang with you quite yet, but It'll be good motivation for me to get beat up on by some local scraps out there in your land. Out here there are a plethora of locals biting at the chance to be thought of as the next rock star of the MTB scene. They'll learn. It may take a season or two, but they'll learn.

I was thinking of doing a few of those NUE races this year. F.L. said he was planning on it too, who knows about that dude though. His plans seem to be impeded regularly by his celebrity status. He's changed a lot since this mess started. I confused him with a politician for a minute. It would be good race with you old dogs again. We'll have to see if I can get a hall pass from the Ol' Hen.

What's with this new blogging thing? I stumbled across some local scrap's bike racing blog out here and started surfing around the blog world. Talk about dudes who can foam at the mouth about themselves. I find it hilarious myself. Not my bag at all. I'll continue to use it for cheap entertainment though. You've been foaming a bit yourself there too hot shot. I'm glad you are though, I would have not had a chance to contact you otherwise. Holla back when you return from camp.

I love you man, you're bellissimo

Where do you guys all live? Maybe we can carpool sometime.

I said there are some good riders in Ohio, why are you all defensive?

Look dude I think that if your gonna talk shit you need to man up and not hide behind an anonymous name. Maybe you should try Shawn for instance. I get the feeling that you ride the road alot from your ridiculous attitude and I think that it sucks. If you want to run around with that roadie mentality stay on the road, because I don't know many mountain bikers who want it around and that includes more Pro's than I can count. So due yourself a favor and don't be a dick!!
